Being a talented esthetician is not just something you do, it comes from the soul. The remarkable gift of touch is....well, you either have it or you don't. Like every other profession, not everyone in the industry has it, and not everyone who has it, is in the industry. However, for those who happen to be in the field in which their are truly gifted, they are the ones by which others are measured. Lucky for us, Audia is such a person. Not only does she have the gift of touch, she has the knowledge, the experience and the dedication that makes her shine in her field. Down-to-earth, professional, and warm in her approach, Audia fell in love with skin care in 1995 while working on her MBA. After graduation, she temped for a year to save for esthetics school, moved into her father's basement, and attended Christine Valmy* International School for Esthetics, in New York City, the pioneering school in the esthetics industry.
Audia became a licensed esthetician in 1997. For over ten years she has skillfully mastered her profession, working at every level in the industry, including day spas, resort spas and medical spas where she performed advanced skin care treatments in conjunction with a dermatologist's office. More recently, she was the consultant for the skin care department, in the creation of a new spa facility--August Moon Spa--near Ithaca, NY. She was also a consultant for Traditions Resort in Johnson City, NY.
In addition to being a make-up artist, Audia is also a permanent make-up artist.** She has lectured and holds workshops for organizations at Cornell University, including the Spa Club at the Hotel School, and throughout the community. Audia is also involved with the American Cancer Society's "Look Good...Feel Better" program, which helps women and men going through chemotherapy address the issues associated with skin and hair. She is a special contributing health and beauty writer for the Ithaca Journal and Examiner.com. “I love sharing my knowledge of the spa industry in general and skin care in particular. I'm always honored and humbled when people seek me out, put their trust in me, and allow me the privilege of helping them achieve their skin care goals.â€
* Christine Valmy is recognized as originating the field of esthetics in the United States, she was awarded a citation for creating this new profession by the 92nd Congress.
** Permanent make-up is a form of tattooing.
